When it rains, look for rainbows. When it's dark, look for stars.
I focus on photographing "naturescapes" - natural scenery, plants, animals, and activities that are all around us but that we seldom, if ever, experience or notice. It started when my 10-year-old neighbor told her mom that she didn't have to stay up late to see a lunar eclipse because "Mr. Stan will take a picture and show me tomorrow." On this website you will find photos of sunsets, fall colors and other traditional photography subjects. But you will also find photos of star trails, meteors, the "faces" of butterflies, the tiniest details of flowers, eclipses of the moon and the sun, and other things you can't easily see. I enjoyed taking all of them and, more importantly, i enjoy sharing them because I don't mind staying up late.
